I havent written in a while....

Folgers has started making some new coffees. That isnt new news, since the coffee industry is a highly competitive one.It is also a sometimes entertaining one especially if anyone has ever walked into a Starbucks and ordered a large mocha (I have, and the look on the barista's face is good for a bit of amusement) Maybe I shouldnt taunt the Starbucks employees, no matter how much fun it can be. "Can I get a look of disgruntled barista with my large frappacino?" Who comes up with these names anyways? 'barista, grande coffee, frappacino, frappe'...

on to the good stuff....

Folgers has a Brazzilian blend that is very georgious for a coffee. It is a coffee that has a good flavor, full body, and is a great eye opener on any morning. This coffee is good for year round coffee drinking, it is a good morning and afternoon coffee. Add just a bit of cream, sugar, and honey, and you have one fantastic cup of coffee.....

now for a coffee shop alert.....

once, long ago, I went to a place called Java Daves. Now mind you, this was some years ago, and I realize it is a chain. I decided to go back, since it had been years since my first visit. I didnt have anything good to say about this place the first visit. there was a lot of religious propaganda EVERYWHERE. Now, i can handle the zelious coffee shop, but this was a bit extreme. I also dont feel that the person working behind the counter needs to give me a sunday morning sermon with my cup of java. I was highly dissapointed in the staff, and the coffee was just horrid. It wasnt anything I ever cared to stomach again.

Now, for the re-visit...

I had a drink called a Sugar daddy, which indeed tasted much like the sugar daddy pops of my youth. I thought that was ok, but the service was a bit lacking. It seemed like she was in a hurry to get us out of her way and was a bit occupied with things other than her job. I also tried a sip of my husbands Chai. It was extremley lacking in good flavor.I am not a big Chai drinker, and prefer more coffee based drinks, but this was not my idea of a good chai. It was drinkable, and I am sure there are worse out there. The place had a unfriendly atmophere, it wasnt coffee shop, it screamed "I am a coffee chain" The place had quite a lot of potental when it came to atmosphere, but it had a long ways to go. I could tell by my drink, that the coffee itself left a whole lot to be lacking. The flavor did not go smoothy down, and left a more bitter aftertaste.  So thumbs down to this place. I was unimpressed once again, and I doubt it will be anytime soon before I go back, and that is IF I ever go back, which it more sounds like it is going to be. I could go spend my coffee money elsewhere, and get a good atmosphere, fantastic coffee drinks, and fun server/barista/brewers. So stay away from java daves if you have any appreciation for coffee in anyway. Spend your money at the local mom and pop coffee houses, they could use the patronige a bit more. Supporting the local buisnesses is always a much better idea than the chains and corperations. The chains and corperations dont care, while the local buisnesses do care about the customers!

so hopefully I wont wait so long for my next post.

untill next time...

dont forget the cream and sugar.
